The specialist will use hand signals and other non-verbal cues during the driving test if you do not speak English. Translators are not allowed to help you during the tests. You may bring someone to translate, but the translator may only help the applicant communicate with the specialist before and after the knowledge or driving test is given. If a Spanish-speaking specialist is available, then the driving test may be given in Spanish.
